آية وقول قديس

فـي ضـيقـي دعـوت الـرب



والـي الـهـي صـرخـت فـسمـع مـن هـيـكـله صـوتـي


وصـراخـي قـدامـه دخـل اذنـيـه

مز 18: 6


In my distress I called upon the LORD,


and cried out to my God;


He heard my voice from His temple,


and my cry came before Him,


even to His ears.


(Ps. 18: 6)




لنخضع نحن أنفسنا للصلاة


إنها سلاح قدير إن قُدمت بغيرة


إن كانت بدون عجب، إن كانت بذهنٍ مخلصٍ


إنها تصد حروبًا، ... إنها هي عينها دواء منقذ


له قوة لمنع الخطايا وشفاء الأفعال الشريرة


القديس يوحنا ذهبي الفم


Let us apply ourselves to Prayer.


It is a mighty weapon if it be offered with earnestness,


if without vainglory, if with a sincere mind.


It has turned back wars.… It is itself a saving medicine,


and has power to prevent sins, and to heal misdeeds.
